A short demo for Ultima 9, originally released on a Computer Gaming World CD.

An Ultima IX demo that was featured in Computer Gaming World shortly before Ultima IX‘s release in 1999. It includes the Avatar’s adventures on Earth, and in Britannia through to the end of Dungeon Despise.
The CD image is in the older MDX format, which can be loaded using Daemon Tools Lite; it should be able to be installed on modern operating systems, although the nGlide wrapper may be necessary to run the game.
2022 checking in. After installing this when I tried to run it nothing would happen.
Oddly to get it to work I had to rename the directory it was in from “C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Systems\Ultima IX Ascension Demo” to “C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Systems\Ultima9demo”.
